GARDEN - Wildlife

The Harlequin ladybirds have moved from (and stopped producing larva on) the willow. Plenty native 7-spots on the bean beds, and thistles. The odd yellow 16-spot ladybird can also be found.

The new pollytunnel is proving to be quite a haven for ladybirds, moths, butterflies, and spiders.

Swifts can be seen in large numbers before they depart at the end of Summer.

Bramble, rowan, and elder berries are ripening (early compared to past years). Snowberry is not far off.

Thistles and sorrel are providing an impressive flowering display.

Report by Richard Bevan

There is Evidence that the bog garden is attracting wildlife - several sightings of dragonflies, and a toad nearby.
